SAFCOL Ecotourism 2026

Explore Waterfalls and Forests in Mpumalanga and Limpopo

The South African Forestry Company (SAFCOL) invites South Africans to celebrate Tourism Month with free day visits to its scenic ecotourism sites. Taking place from 14 to 16 September 2026, this annual initiative provides free entry to a selection of famous waterfalls, picnic areas, and forest trails across Mpumalanga and Limpopo. Day visitors can take advantage of this special offer to discover regional natural attractions, picnic along clear mountain streams, and walk surrounded by lush pine and indigenous forests without paying standard conservation entry fees.

The free access schedule covers different geographic hubs on specific dates. On 14 September, visitors can explore Lone Creek Falls and Bridal Veil Falls in the Sabie area. The offer moves to the Graskop area on 15 September for Lisbon Falls and Berlin Falls, while also including Debengeni Falls in Magoebaskloof, Limpopo. On 16 September, free entry applies to Mac Mac Falls, Mac Mac Pools, and the Green Heritage Picnic Sites at Maria Shire Falls. To gain access, South African citizens simply need to present a valid South African ID at the gate.
