SA National Parks Week 2026

Discover South Africa’s Natural Heritage

SA National Parks Week offers South African citizens free access to most national parks for day visits. This annual initiative aims to encourage South Africans to explore their natural heritage. It fosters a sense of pride and community ownership in our protected areas. Visitors can experience spectacular landscapes and wildlife without paying standard conservation entry fees. This program highlights the importance of environmental conservation across our country.

Free access applies specifically to day visits. It does not include overnight accommodation, guided game drives, or other paid activities inside the parks. South Africans must present a valid SA ID at the entrance gate to qualify. Children must also show valid identification upon arrival.
