The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) invites the public to celebrate Tourism Month during Mpumalanga Parks Week 2026. From 14 to 20 September 2026, selected provincial nature reserves across Mpumalanga will open their gates free of charge to day visitors. This annual campaign encourages local communities, families, and outdoor enthusiasts to experience the province’s extraordinary landscapes, rich biodiversity, and natural beauty without paying standard daily conservation entrance fees.

Participating sites showcase a wide variety of ecosystems, including the dramatic views of the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, the Big Five bushveld of Manyeleti Nature Reserve, and scenic inland waters like Loskop Dam. Free entry applies strictly to day visits, providing an excellent opportunity for daytime picnics, game viewing, and exploring established hiking trails. Visitors must present a valid South African identity document or driver’s license at the entrance gates to gain access.
