Airlink Connects Gqeberha & Mbombela
New Direct Route Launching November 2026
Airlink will launch a new direct route between Gqeberha and Mbombela’s Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport starting 16 November 2026. Operating three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, this service represents the first-ever direct scheduled flights connecting the two cities. Passengers will fly aboard an Embraer ERJ140 aircraft featuring 44 seats with no middle seating. This connection cuts travel time significantly by bypassing connections through Johannesburg. It links the Sunshine Coast and Garden Route directly to the Kruger National Park, supporting both leisure tourism and business hubs across the Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga. Travellers enjoy complimentary meals, refreshments, and generous legroom on every flight. Bookings are open now online or through travel agents.
